MOSCOW. An amazing project was opened in the Gostiny Dvor, the author of which is the national artist of Uzbekistan Lekim Ibragimov. Each painting included in the art object is a separate composition with an image of an angel, however, this is not a mosaic assembled from separate particles - combined into a single whole, they become a mega-picture. A truly amazing metamorphosis is taking place - the form and functions of each individual component are completely changing.
The idea of the project was born by Lekim Ibragimov about ten years ago, but in 2010, for the year, images of the first ten angels were created. According to the artist, angels were always present in his paintings, so the project became a logical continuation of the creative path.
In his work, Ibragimov constantly turns to oriental motifs, and to create this unique work, the source of inspiration was a collection of oriental tales - the famous “Thousand and One Nights”. These tales had a huge impact on world literature and art.
Despite the scale of the work, Lekim Ibragimov works in a traditional manner, without using any technical devices. Like a thousand years ago, the artist picks up a brush and makes strokes on the surface of the canvas. It took about a ton of paints to create this amazing canvas. The artist has been looking for his style for many years. The result of these searches was the combination of oil painting with graphics and calligraphy.
Throughout the year, the canvas will be exhibited in cities designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
