The exhibition is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and the Arab Republic of Egypt. The opening will take place on June 5, 2013 at 17:00. The exposition is open until June 30.

Modern painting in Egypt developed under the influence of European schools, primarily French and English, and therefore the issue of national identification in art, of course, remains on the agenda. In addition, a strong association with ancient art gives a creative impetus to the search by Egyptian masters for new topics to participate in the global art process.

Today Egypt is experiencing a difficult period in its history, which makes the holding of the “Time Capsule” exhibition in Russia a unique cultural event for our countries. Considering the historical experience, when until 1943 there was no interstate relations between the Soviet Union and Egypt, today’s meeting with contemporary art in Egypt allows us to better understand its development trends and establish personal and business contacts in the field of cultural interaction.

The exhibition “Capsule of Time” was organized jointly with the Bureau of Culture of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Moscow.
