The Regional Museum of Local Lore invites you to visit the exhibition opened on the eve of Victory Day, the exhibition of which is dedicated to the centenary of the famous artist Boris Bobrov. The name of a graphic master who died early is inseparable from the cultural life of Saratov in the 1930s and 1960s.
The main part of the exhibition was the work of the artist of the war years. These are sketches for posters issued during the war and the posters themselves, miraculously preserved and now stored in the museum’s collection. In addition to these historical works, visitors to the exhibition can get acquainted with painting and graphics from the heritage of Boris Bobrov, carefully preserved by his grandson, Boris Glubokov.
Boris Bobrov received his art education at the Saratov Art College, where he later worked as a teacher, while also designing books in a children’s publishing house. The exhibition presents graphic sketches of illustrations for books and book publications, designed by the artist.
Boris Bobrov with the beginning of the Finnish war was drafted into the army, where during the battle received a heavy shell shock. Therefore, his further service until the end of the war took place at the headquarters of the Saratov airfield, where he was engaged in creative activities.
During these years, the most famous posters written by Bobrov were issued. The exhibition presents the artist’s works, which were printed in a huge circulation for those years and are familiar to literally every resident of the military and post-war Saratov. Visiting the exhibition, you can see "Infanticide", "Brothers in the Blood" and other famous works of the artist.
After the war, Boris Bobrov led an active creative and social work, creating numerous works of various genres. Paintings, cartoons and illustrations for books - all this is presented at the exhibition.
