Olga Shayunova’s watercolors became the second part of the project, created to familiarize residents of the city and the region with the work of the best representatives of contemporary artists of St. Petersburg.

Connoisseurs of painting at first glance at the artist’s watercolors attribute Olga Shayunova to the true representatives of the St. Petersburg watercolor school. This connection is visible not only in the fact that many of the works performed by the artist are devoted to St. Petersburg, but also in picturesque techniques, exquisite colors, but with the frequent use of various shades of gray.

At the opening exhibition, Olga presented watercolor landscapes, a favorite genre in the artist’s work. The exhibition includes works created by the artist over the past twelve years, presented in three cycles.

Each of the cycles has speaking names - “Petersburg Melody”, consisting of views of his native city, “Russian Province”, made on the basis of sketches written on trips to Russian cities, and, finally, “Celestial Empire”, a series of watercolors painted under the impression of a trip To China.

Creativity of the artist has long been appreciated by lovers of painting. Olga participated in many exhibitions, is a member of the Union of Artists, and her watercolors adorn museums and private collections. In Kirov, Olga Shayunova’s watercolors will be staying until April 28th.
