"Astrakhan Motives" by I. Ovchinnikov at an exhibition in the "House of Merchant Tetyushinov" Automatic translate
ASTRAKHAN. With the help of the famous artist I. N. Ovchinnikov, Astrakhan will be able to see their favorite corners at the exhibition “Astrakhan Motifs” opened in the MCC “House of the Merchant Tetyushinov”.
The artist’s work is well known to connoisseurs of painting, however, among the forty works that made up the exposition of the exhibition, new works by Ovchinnikov appeared, which have not yet been exhibited. The plots of most of the new graphic works are connected with the onset of spring - “Spring ice drift”, “Astrakhan spring”, “Thin ice”.
The artist’s love for his native city is visible in all his works. The landscapes of Ovchinnikov housed cozy courtyards, old houses, architectural monuments. The artist did not disregard the Volga banks, the embankments of the great river, the fishermen - everything that makes up the special flavor of the Volga city.
Passion for drawing came to Igor Nikolaevich in early childhood. In his school years, his drawings and cartoons were the decoration of a wall newspaper. Later, in his student years, he actively collaborated with newspapers published in Astrakhan. The artist’s drawings were constantly published in the newspapers Volga and Komsomolets Astrakhan. The first higher education received by Igor Ovchinnikov was technical.
While working in Kaluga, he also received a journalistic education. After graduation, not only Ovchinnikov’s drawings began to appear in newspapers, but also remarkable publications devoted to the history of his native city and its architecture. Several issues of newspapers with essays written by the artist can be seen at the exhibition.
Igor Nikolaevich is a regular participant in various exhibitions in Russian cities, and a collection of his works has been placed in the private museum of the coastal city of France.
The exhibition in the Astrakhan Museum will be open until May 10th.
