St. Petersburg and Finland at the exhibition "Road Home" in Petrozavodsk Automatic translate
PETROZAVODSK. For the first time, the Museum of Fine Arts will acquaint city residents with the work of Andrei Vetrogonsky, an artist from St. Petersburg. The personal exhibition, called "The Road Home", opened on February 15, providing visitors with the opportunity to see more than a hundred works by the artist.
The exhibition displays exquisite still lifes, portraits, which depict people close to the artist, landscapes. Andrei Vetrogonsky devoted many of his works to his native city - modern St. Petersburg.
A separate section of the exhibition will present graphics, which are an important component of the artist’s work. In this part, Andrei first presented his new work - a series of graphic works dedicated to artists in small towns in Finland. These works are written according to the latest impressions received by the artist during his travels around the country.
Andrei Vetrogonsky received the profession of graphic artist, graduating from the Repin Institute in St. Petersburg. This creative profession was not chosen by the artist by chance; his father, people’s artist Vladimir Vetrogonsky, is a recognized master of the Leningrad graphic school. The works of the senior representative of the Vetrogonsky family can also be found in the Petrozavodsk Museum of Fine Arts.
Since 1976, Andrei has been a participant in more than 120 exhibitions, among them about ten personal ones, is a member of the Union of Artists, and is engaged in pedagogical activities. In addition to working as a teacher at the Faculty of Arts at the State University of St. Petersburg, the artist also teaches drawing to children and adults at the Arishtok drawing school.
You can see the work of a talented artist until March 31st.
