Little-known works of famous artists at the exhibition "Without a visa" Automatic translate
YAROSLAVL. To see the unique project of the Yaroslavl Art Museum, the city residents had the opportunity. At the exhibition, called “Without a Visa,” museum workers collected almost forty works stored in their funds. Among them are the works of such famous brush masters as Aivazovsky, Vereshchagin and Levitan, as well as paintings by artists whose names are not so widely known, but deserving no less attention than celebrities.
The exposition of the exhibition, which opened on February 7, united the work of artists using a peculiar selection principle - all the works presented on it were written by Russian artists either on trips to different countries or on impressions from trips. The works available for viewing were previously not shown in the museum, and some were never accessible to art lovers at all.
The exhibition received such a peculiar name in order to emphasize that in the 19th century for the departure of artists to other countries there was no need to obtain a visa to talented artists who received medals at the end of the Academy of Arts, in addition to them they were given the opportunity to receive a scholarship and go on to continue study abroad.
There, young people took classes from celebrities, worked in the open air, painted copies of famous paintings in museums. During their stay in this kind of creative business trip, they had to regularly send reports about their activities.
Upon the artists’ return to their homeland, exhibitions were organized in which their colleagues could not only see the landscapes of places not previously seen, but also get acquainted with new picturesque techniques of foreign masters.
Residents of Yaroslavl will be able to see little-known works of masters until April 14th.
