Exhibition "RHYTHM SECTION" at the Kiev Institute of Contemporary Art Automatic translate
On December 4, an exhibition was opened in Kiev dedicated to the problem of the influence of rhythm on contemporary art. Outside of a certain rhythm, it is impossible to imagine creativity. It is impossible to underestimate the role of the artist’s internal biorhythms, forcing him to draw softly and smoothly, then sharply and aggressively. Not to mention the external impact - the rhythm of the universe, the laws of nature, the effects of the frantic pace of life of modern people.
All art of the twentieth century, in essence, was formed under the influence of different rhythms, many artists studied their influence on themselves and their works, but so far, there has not been a single exhibition that would completely be devoted to such a phenomenon as Rhythm.
In general, the “RHYTHM SECTION” project is an experiment encouraging artists to actively study this phenomenon and demonstrate their observations. What moves the artist, why does each master work only at his own pace? How can one influence the deep meaning of a future work using the laws of rhythm.
The exhibition was attended by 20 contemporary Ukrainian and foreign artists interested in this issue. Therefore, the exposition includes not only integral works, the "gestalt" of which is fully completed. But also sketches, sketches, sketches - all attempts to catch running away time and its rigid and unstoppable rhythm.
The exhibition runs until December 14, and during it will be held two performances, as well as the performance of musical groups. Music is life itself, visual art is a way of comprehending it, and Rhythm is an immutable law.
