Contemporary home for contemporary art - NCCA unveils the design of its new building Automatic translate
On August 13, at a press conference on the anniversary of the museum, the administration of the Moscow Center for Contemporary Art presented a modest gift to themselves - the project of a new exhibition complex.
The art of today is not only extremely expressive and abstract, but also interactivity, as well as the need to interact deeply with the public. All technical innovations that allow “knocking on the hearts” of spectators as loudly as possible should be used in ongoing exhibitions. Light, music, play by the design of the room, smells, scenery - everything in the exhibition room should be loaded with meaning! Therefore, the museum, which seeks to collect under its arches all the trends of the era, urgently needs a building that is distinguished not only by its avant-garde appearance, but also by its developed infrastructure.
For 10 years, the leadership of the NCCA cherished the dream of their own, huge house, which will become a cozy cradle for nascent talents, as well as a chic frame for world-famous artists, photographers, sculptors, directors, actors and poets.
By 2015, “neo-Babylon” will appear in Moscow - a curved tower, stretching to the sky at a distance of at least ten floors. Inside, there will be exhibition halls, pavilions, workshops, a cinema hall, platforms for performances and choreographic productions, and even a luxurious hall for presenting prizes in the field of contemporary art. Thus, the NCCA plans to become the largest complex in all of Europe and demonstrate the work of many foreign masters.
