Flanking the central figure are two male saints, each clad in vibrant red robes trimmed with black fabric. They hold spears or staffs, traditional attributes signifying their roles as protectors or witnesses. Behind them, smaller winged figures – presumably angels – hover, adding to the ethereal and otherworldly atmosphere. The background is dominated by a gold-toned surface punctuated by circular forms that appear as stylized suns or halos, further reinforcing the sense of divine elevation.
At the base of the throne, a cluster of foliage and flowers emerges from what appears to be a stone plinth. This lower register provides a grounding element to the otherwise elevated scene, connecting the heavenly realm with earthly existence. The color palette is dominated by reds, blacks, golds, and whites, contributing to an overall impression of solemnity and grandeur.
The artist’s use of perspective is somewhat flattened, characteristic of early Renaissance painting. This lack of deep spatial recession contributes to a sense of formality and emphasizes the symbolic nature of the scene over realistic representation. The figures are rendered with a degree of naturalism in their facial features and body postures, yet they retain an idealized quality that elevates them above everyday individuals.
