The sky is an expanse of pale blue, punctuated by large, swirling cloud formations. The clouds themselves possess a sculptural quality, their edges blurred yet retaining a distinct three-dimensionality. They seem to press down upon the mountains, almost obscuring them in places. The artist employed a limited palette – primarily blues and whites – which contributes to a sense of atmospheric distance and serenity.
The painting’s composition is notable for its flattened perspective. Theres little indication of depth beyond the immediate foreground and background planes. This stylistic choice emphasizes the formal elements – color, texture, and shape – over realistic spatial representation.
