Painter: Boris Kustodiev
Kustodiev was a Russian artist who, with all his appearance, was always qualitatively different from the rest. And indeed, looking at his self-portrait, one can see at once that a real Russian man appeared in front of the viewer. His entire appearance suggests that we are in front of a real, typical Russian man, which is not only accustomed to see us foreigners, but we ourselves. Pay attention, his whole posture shows that he is a real master of his land.
Description of Boris Kustodiev’s painting "Self-Portrait".
Maybe he went out to hunt, or maybe he just decided to look around his land, or maybe he is going to look for something and by all appearances, he is sure to find it.
In his hands you can see a gun. But it is understandable, why should he walk around like that? He has a very important look and if you pay attention to his gaze you will understand at once that he is looking for something, maybe he looks for something or has already found it and does not want to let it out of his sight.
In the background is a vast plain, with a small glade, where in the distance, even merges into one. The self-portrait is done very surprisingly, the image itself stands very close to the viewer, and allows you to consider all the details of interest, both in appearance and in facial expressions.
The self-portrait is most likely done in the autumn period, this is indicated by Kustodiev’s clothing and the yellow trees that stand behind him. Among other things, it is often during this period that one goes hunting, naturally based on the animal being hunted.
It is quite difficult to know why the artist decided to reproduce himself in this way, but then again, Kustodiev was different not only in his appearance, but also a special vision of everything around him and what is happening, which in turn, simply could not be reflected in the painting.
Serious and concentrated - such was Kustodiev and was familiar to a large number of people surrounding him and admirers of his art. The self-portrait deserves the highest praise.

The picture has something of this: people, lithograph, man, vintage, Impressionism, soldier, wear, portrait, lid, war, military, retro, facial hair, weapon.
Perhaps it’s a painting of a man standing in a field with a bottle of wine in his hand and a cactus in the background with a sky.
