The composition presents a disconcerting juxtaposition of interior and exterior spaces, creating a dreamlike or surreal atmosphere. A prominent arched window dominates the left side of the canvas, framing a vibrant seascape with turquoise waters and a distant shoreline punctuated by dark evergreen trees. The perspective is unusual; the viewer seems to be looking through the window, yet simultaneously within an enclosed room.
Within this room, a blue chaise lounge occupies a central position. Protruding from beneath the white sheets are the bare feet of a person, suggesting a state of repose or perhaps confinement.
