The artist has established a clear spatial hierarchy. The foreground is dominated by the immediate action, rendered with considerable detail and emotional intensity. Behind this group, a fortified structure rises, its walls and towers defining the background landscape. This architectural element provides a sense of institutional power and authority, suggesting that the depicted event occurs under the sanction or oversight of established governance. Beyond the fortress, a panoramic view stretches out, encompassing rolling hills, scattered trees, and distant settlements bathed in light.
Above the scene, several figures – presumably angelic beings – descend from the sky. Their presence introduces a layer of spiritual significance to the unfolding events; they appear as witnesses or perhaps intermediaries between the earthly realm and a higher power. The use of light is particularly noteworthy.
