Of course looking at this painting by the great artist Vasnetsov, you immediately understand what feelings the creator was trying to achieve. The painting is solidly imbued with feelings of pessimism and even partly of despair. From the surrounding landscape, in the background, it becomes clear that this is quite late, most likely - autumn. The scene of the painting meets us in St. Petersburg. All this is clear from the background, which shows the contours of the great Peter and Paul Fortress.
Description of Victor Vasnetsov’s painting "From Apartment to Apartment"
Of course looking at this painting by the great artist Vasnetsov, you immediately understand what feelings the creator was trying to achieve.
The painting is solidly imbued with feelings of pessimism and even partly of despair. From the surrounding landscape, in the background, it becomes clear that this is quite late, most likely - autumn. The scene of the painting meets us in St. Petersburg. All this is clear from the background, which shows the contours of the great Peter and Paul Fortress. Niva, which is already shrinking with ice.
Looking at the main characters in this picture, an elderly man, who judging by his clothes is far from rich, but at the same time not poor, most likely their family is somewhere between poor and middle class, perhaps even some very petty official.
He does not have much in his hands, but behind him is a meager salary, the same exact pension, and most importantly, the reason for their wanderings, the rising cost of housing. From the way he looks at his elderly wife, you can see that he is very upset and feels guilty about what happened. His wife at this point is completely undeterred and completely focused on the road.
With them on the road next to them is their dog, being faithful, their owners all his life, as they say in wealth and in poverty. The artist, thanks to the exact location of the Peter and Paul Fortress and the route of these two old men with a dog, allows us to assume that they keep their way, most likely, from the more expensive housing Vasilevsky Island, to the cheaper, on the side of Petrogradka. All the sadness of this landscape, and emphasizes the overall dismal nature of the plot.
The artist showed us as closely as possible the essence of the experience in such moments as: the presence of gray-yellow snow, the same sad and hopeless gray sky, the Nevsky thaw, above which the seagulls are flying leisurely.

The picture has something of this: people, two, woman, man, wear, group, military, war, vehicle, battle, winter, child, three, mammal, transportation system, soldier, snow, four.
Perhaps it’s a painting of a man and woman walking in the snow with a dog in the foreground and a dog on the other side of the painting.
