He had an idea about writing a series of works devoted to the seasons. The characters were to be his four girlfriends. But it turned out only two paintings. They were spring and autumn. Allegory of spring and autumn are depicted in the paintings of the model.
In the painting "Autumn", the right to pose the great artist, it was given to Marie Laurent. In this work feels the fullness of life. When the viewer looks at this picture, he wants to live and create even more. He trained his sister-in-law Berthe Morisot and Eva Gonzalez, a French painter and graphic artist, as students. Manet was caught dead in Paris in 1883.
