Flight #133. I would like to thank our excellent group leader, Tatyana Tsymbala, a very friendly and professional worker!
The Alpine Trio tour is well-established and refined, but theres still room for improvement!
For payments in stores, plastic cards are convenient. The exchange rate for USD/HUF or USD/EUR is direct, without a third exchange through hryvnia. These transactions are more profitable than exchanging currency into francs or forints.
Day 1 – A tiring transit day, but surprisingly, the border crossing was quick. In the evening, we were delighted with goulash and a tasting of Tokaji wines, where each tourist received five full glasses of different wines. We were really well-fed and had a great tasting experience!
Note to tourists: after the tasting, you will be offered to buy your favorite wine to take home. However, after opening the bottle at home, we found that the taste was very different from what we tasted during the tasting, even though they said it was the same wine bottled!
Day 2
Budapest: Spend your free time buying a boat ticket for €9 (http://www.dunayacht.com/). The boats depart from pier #10. There will be no champagne or guide, but you can ride as many times as you like throughout the day. So, if there are four of you, you can buy two tickets – one couple rides first, then passes the tickets to the other couple. The ticket simply has the date printed on it without a time restriction; they do not need to be validated upon boarding. You can also get off at an island for a walk and then take another boat after 2 hours using the same ticket.
You can also take a walk along the Danube near the beautiful Parliament building!
Not far from Heroes Square, you can see a wonderful park by the river where you can relax, have a seat, and feed the ducks and swans =))
Day 3
Vienna: A general tour, followed by a visit to the Billa Corso supermarket. There is not much time for anything else, so if youve been there before, disconnect from the group as soon as possible to have some free time.
Munich: A general tour in the evening. Everything was interesting, but we had only 1 hour of free time late at night. It was cold, and most of the group was huddled in warm places like the subway or the few remaining open shops, not knowing what to do! You cant really relax for an hour in a cafe, and its also too little time to go anywhere and see any attractions; you have to factor in travel time. Maybe it would have been better not to have free time at all!
The Hofbräuhaus brewery is famous, but it didnt attract many people and was quite crowded and stuffy. So, its a matter of taste =))
Day 4
Free day in Munich: This is what we wanted! Theres plenty to do here =)
First things first, buy a transportation ticket. As the locals advised, you need a Partner-Tageskarte (partner daily ticket) for a group of up to 5 people. It costs €11.20. You can choose between Munchen XXL or Au? enraum (for subway, trams, and buses). The ticket depends on the zones youre traveling in. If its a day ticket, validate it once and ride as much as you like all day. Using public transport is a pleasure!
We spent the whole day independently. We visited the Munich Residenz, the BMW Museum and exhibition hall, walked through the Olympic Park, then went to Nymphenburg Palace, which is about 30-40 minutes away by public transport. Its a wonderful place on par with the parkland of Versailles, with a huge palace and a kilometer-long park area with fountains, flowerbeds, and various animals.
Then we returned to the English Garden, where people were surfing in a tunnel =)) We visited a few temples, and by then it was evening. I have to say, you need a week in Munich =))
Day 5
Neuschwanstein Castle: In my opinion, the view from the bridge and the area around the castle are more interesting than the tour inside the castle itself. The views are magnificent, and its a great place. However, I didnt enjoy the tour inside the castle (too many people are let in at once into tiny rooms like a packed bus; you cant see anything, its cramped, there isnt enough time, and the air is very stuffy).
Zurich: It completely shattered my expectations. Its the richest and most expensive city, but it didnt make much of an impression. The conclusion is that all the money must be buried very deep away from prying eyes =)) A unique and unusual city with its own values and traditions.
Interlaken is a beautiful place with a promenade and stunning scenery.
Day 6
Relaxing by the Swiss lakes... Just the view from the hotel of the mountains and the waterfall, which is located at an altitude of 1000 meters, is worth it =).
The Switzerland – a country with a beautiful picture excursion is definitely worth taking. Its a wonderful tour that takes you from the bears in Bern to Geneva Lake and the beautiful promenade in Montreux. You will discover little Switzerland with its high standard of living.
If you want to shop, theres a supermarket chain called Coop in Switzerland.
Day 7
Innsbruck: The capital of Tyrol. A huge thank you to our tour guide in this city; he tells the history so well and presents it humorously =). A city among mountains with wonderful scenery! Take the excursion to the Swarovski Crystal Worlds museum; if you havent been there before, definitely go. If you have, there are still plenty of things to do, such as relaxing in the park near the museum. And if youre left in Innsbruck on a nice day, you will find something to occupy yourself with.
Day 8
Salzburg: A charming city with a fortress, mansions, and well-maintained parks; a wonderful little town.
Take the excursion that takes you up the mountain by funicular; its definitely worth it. The views are unreal; towering mountains where you just want to breathe in the fresh air and see the indescribable scenery. To the right is a beautiful view, and to the left is an amazing one. The excursion is called To the Peaks of the Alpine Mountains. We were taken to the top of Unterberg, where the border between the Austrian and Bavarian Alps lies (there was snow at the top). Then we saw the beautiful, pristine Königsee lake with stunning scenery, and then we tasted schnapps (a drink thats a matter of taste); you can also buy it there.
In the evening, those who want can go to the Augustine Brewery, and those who dont can simply take a walk and admire the charming city of Salzburg at night and shop at the same supermarket chain as in Vienna – Billa Corso.
Day 9
The Lake Paradise excursion to the Salzkammergut region is something special; its a place where you want to stop time and enjoy the crystal-clear blue lakes surrounded by the most beautiful Alpine mountains on all sides. Its the kind of place people imagine when they think of an ideal vacation home =).
The Beautiful and Fun! excursion to Hellbrunn Palace is also highly recommended; the fountains will unexpectedly spray you with water from everywhere. Its a wonderful residence with an amusement park that lifts your mood and relaxes you =).
Day 10
Relaxing by Lake Balaton... The lake is just like any other lake; we didnt see anything unusual, but the excursion to Swim in the Volcano Crater is worth it. Swimming for 3 hours in this unique complex will help you relax after many days of lack of sleep and rushing around =)).
After swimming, it would be appropriate to buy some ice cream in a wafer cone on the way to the bus parking lot. Its quite tasty there, just like in Innsbruck.
We also managed to shop at the Tesco supermarket chain.
Day 11
Returning to Ukraine: 800 km of road. Departure in the morning and arrival late in the evening.
Also, if you have a great group leader like Tanya, she will take you to a huge supermarket with all European products at low prices =).
However, keep in mind that on holidays and weekends, you wont be able to get to supermarkets; they are all closed.
P. S. Almost throughout this tour, we were accompanied by majestic Alpine mountains, cascades of waterfalls, and breathtaking natural landscapes!
In Austria and Switzerland, the tap water is perfectly clean drinking water, so you dont need to stock up on water there; you can safely fill your bottles with water from hotel taps and from drinking fountains in the cities =)).
Note to Akkord Tour: The Lake Paradise excursion to the Salzkammergut region is excellent, BUT it would be even better if you organized a boat trip from the shore. We found out that a boat trip lasts 40 minutes and costs about €8, but since theres no free time, even tourists cant do it on their own! 40 minutes isnt enough time to change the weather, but this opportunity shouldnt be missed in such a place; please fix this!
Thank you for the wonderful time!

Hello.
You cannot comment Why?
The immediate environment consists of fragmented classical columns and a paved walkway, all rendered with meticulous detail that emphasizes their age and decay. The stonework exhibits signs of erosion and damage, hinting at a long period of abandonment or destruction. A dense plume of dark smoke billows across the right side of the scene, obscuring much of the distant landscape. Below, a sprawling urban area is visible, partially shrouded in shadow and punctuated by sporadic bursts of light – likely fires. The overall impression is one of catastrophe and loss.
The artist’s use of light and shadow contributes significantly to the paintings mood. A cool, diffused light illuminates the figure and the immediate foreground, while the background remains largely obscured in darkness. This contrast draws attention to the individual and isolates them within the larger context of ruin. The smoke creates a visual barrier, separating the viewer from any potential understanding or explanation of the disaster unfolding below.
Several subtexts emerge from this arrangement. The classical architecture evokes associations with antiquity, civilization, and perhaps even ideals of order and beauty – all now seemingly shattered. The solitary figure could be interpreted as representing resilience in the face of adversity, a witness to destruction, or even a symbol of spiritual transcendence above worldly concerns. The smoke’s presence suggests not only physical devastation but also a potential obscuring of truth or hope.
The paintings power lies in its ambiguity. It does not offer easy answers or narratives; instead, it presents a scene of profound loss and invites contemplation on themes of destruction, memory, and the enduring nature of the human spirit amidst chaos. The deliberate lack of explicit narrative allows for multiple interpretations, fostering a sense of unease and prompting reflection on the fragility of civilization and the cyclical nature of history.
