Description of Peter Brueghel’s "Peasant Dance" painting
Throughout the sixteenth and then the seventeenth century the Netherlands was shaken by revolutions and peasant revolts. One of the masterpieces of northern art appeared at this difficult time, a painting by Pieter Brueghel entitled "Peasant Dance".
Written in 1568, the painting is currently located in Vienna. The canvas depicts peasants having fun, celebrating, apparently, the wedding of one of the inhabitants, or the celebration of the fair. All the figures are painted on a very large scale, and even those in the background are quite clearly visible. People are having fun, dancing and drinking.
The artist depicts a kissing scene, exchanged surreptitiously by the lovers, trying not to get into the middle of the crowd. Time seems to have stopped for a second to allow the artist’s brush to capture the movements of the bodies, the facial expressions, the gestures that are exchanged between the dancers. Even the children came out to have fun, holding hands and dancing.
The peculiarity of the painting is that there are absolutely no similar subjects. Couples dancing, each in his own way, people at the table talking animatedly about something, more and more people come out of the houses and join the dance.
Brueghel showed through these gruff and slouching peasants the mighty force that is the people, because if one of them spreads his shoulders, as shown in the dance, all the apparent power of the rich would collapse into oblivion. This is why the peasants are shown in such a large and sweeping way, as in this painting. It is important for the artist to show that they are not some little people, but strong beautiful people who can not only work, but also to rest. The peasants are not just a work force, but a real element, ready to show themselves at any moment.
"Peasant Dance," a painting that became part of a cycle of similar works by the artist, along with the painting "Peasant Wedding," which continues the subject line.

а где вы еще найдете такой шедевр
Может быть эта вещь лучшее из того, что когда-либо красками рисовал человек.
ОЧЕНЬ ПОНРАВИЛОСЬ
You cannot comment Why?
The picture has something of this: people, group, wear, man, veil, child, woman, many, vehicle, group together, war, position, transportation system, lid, military, mammal.
Perhaps it’s a painting of a group of people standing around a table with a man holding a cup in his hand and a woman holding a bottle in her other hand.
