White background, black square. What’s so special or complicated about it? At first glance, nothing at all. Anyone can draw a picture like this, you might say. But, surprisingly enough, Malevich’s Black Square painting has become an enigma that has survived to this day. And art lovers and scrupulous researchers , do not cease to admire this masterpiece of painting.

Malevich himself did not understand how he painted such a picture. Under the cracks in the black square, you can see layers of different colors. For example, we can see the color green and pink. Malevich was convinced that the "Black Square" is superior to all other works, and it is associated with something cosmic in the artist’s mind.

Malevich’s "Black Square" caused a lot of controversy and conversation. The master himself and one critic, called this canvas an icon. And at the exhibition of paintings, the Black Square took a special place. Like icons, the painting was placed in a corner of the room. An interesting detail is the position of the black square on the white background. In juxtaposition, the two colors are like two pluses, at quite a distance from each other. The color variety that is present, however, removes all restrictions. This is called ethereal statics, according to art critics. But Malevich himself did not try to show the separation of black and white.

The aesthetic side of the painting interests every connoisseur of painting. And the answer is not easy to find. Malevich thought of the painting as an icon. And an icon can also have artistic manifestations and qualities. The picture embodies the idea of synthesis. That is, the unification into one, philosophy and politics, literature and art, religion and science.
