The artist’s work is multifaceted, and the paintings became known for their illustrations of folk Russian fairy tales. Vasnetsov’s painting "Alyonushka" was painted by him in 1881. It seems to be imbued with lyricism of the image of a girl from a well-known fairy tale "Sister Alenushka and her brother Ivanushka". Description of the painting "Alyonushka" by Viktor Vasnetsov
Alyonushka with pining eyes and tired from searching for her brother, Alyonushka sits on a large rock by the pond with her head resting on her knees. All around, the dense and dark forest brings gloomy thoughts to the viewer. The sad solitude, enhanced by the images of nature, trees, clouds above the heroine’s head, speaks of a kind of grief.
The dark forest surrounds her on all sides and does not want to let her out of its captivity. Alyonushka’s tears fall directly into the pond. What did the author want to say? Rather to warn of the danger that has happened or may happen to Ivanushka. Barefoot, with disheveled hair on her head, in an old and faded gray sundress, Alyonushka is full of thoughts about her brother.
Suddenly Baba-Yaga turns her brother into a little goat. Vasnetsov wonderfully described the landscape in this painting, which interacts with his heroine. Nothing distracts the viewer from the heroine of the painting. At the same time, every detail underscores the depth of the painting’s essence, which provides a rich ground for reflection.
One gets the impression that Alyonushka finds solace at the pond. She seems to dissolve in this beauty of the artist’s colors and becomes part of this landscape herself. The wounded legs and humility of the heroine fascinate and attract the viewer to her pure maiden image.
The painting could be called otherwise - the girl by the lake. She hopes for a miracle, which seems as if it is about to appear from the depths of water. It even becomes a pity for Alyonushka. Compassion and empathy of the viewer of the main character, becomes almost the main goal for the author.

Изумительно! Спасибо за сайт! Успехов во всех начинаниях!
Что-то Васнецов мне никак в душу не западает. Техника так себе, на очень среднем уровне.

The picture has something of this: people, outdoors, tree, two, cropland, nature, food, grow, leaf, wood, woman, flower, group, water, bird, farming, fruit.
Perhaps it’s a painting of a woman in a dress sitting on a rock next to a body of water with trees in the background.
