BIBLICAL POEM
Had Daniil Andreev known
What awaited our world half a century hence!
There was no global war he had foreseen,
But humanity has changed – who, why, and how?
Its something even the Rose of the World couldnt imagine.
The darkness of pop stars, the sticky mire of money.
Is formalism to be praised in churches?
Oh, the depths of biblical times!
Patriarchs with vast flocks.
A given – what is contained within it
Applies to everyone now: values are conditional
For all. I see biblical flocks
In the heavens: they shimmer.
Clouds today and always
Entice with a quiet stillness.
The Bible of plains, roads, and mountains,
The Bible of kings, ideas, prophets.
What the inner eye perceives
Is timeless and without limits.
Old religions are strong
On their outward, formal side.
No one is without fault,
So what should we do with such truth?
Everything today is inflamed with vanity,
And take everything life offers is the motto.
We challenge the heavens again.
We watch aggressive films.
The world is permeated by aggression.
I remember the dust of biblical roads
As if I had walked on them – here,
Even though I dont encounter them now.
How can we present ourselves as wise counsel?
Everyone is at odds with each other.
Height remains eternally unrequited.
Once, a man followed the plow.
Oh, the branching mysteries of the Bible! The essence
Of meaningful grains – we dont see the grains.
The outer text, where there is bitterness, anger, and judgment,
Is multi-layered in its inner meaning.
Symbols – how much power do they have?
Can one live without allegories?
Primitivism opens its maw.
Simplicity is sometimes worse than grief.
Social equality does not exist anywhere
And will not – an abyss of stratification.
The pleasures of billionaires, etc.,
And the intoxication of fleeting wealth.

Even half a century from now?
A man without light is wingless
In spirit; only the spirit deserves praise.
It seems that in our time,
The spirit has been trampled upon. And the soul is defiled.
