World jazz stars in Sokolniki Automatic translate
A unique opportunity will be presented to all guests of Sokolniki Park to visit the bold and innovative project “Music of Parks: Crossing The Time” Crossing Time… The action will take place on Saturday evening May 25 at 20.00 on the Festival Square of the park.
The project is a musical and artistic action at the intersection of modern genres, designed to convey the connection of time and the continuity of the spiritual culture of the people, reflected in the music and musical images of different eras. The music of the project is based on folk musical and melodic material and the figurative sphere of the origins of his work. And, at the same time, it is stated and arranged in a jazz genre and is performed in a modern language.
The presence of the Sofia belfry in this project determines its character and imaginative flavor. The bell-like harmonies and interactions of the belfry with the orchestra, soloists, and organ are the main musical events of this action, forming its creative face and sound concept. This is, above all, a cultural project, but in a modern design and with a high event component.
The project also involved bright soloists from different musical genres, an orchestra, organ. Each participant of the project “Crossing Time” - a team, artist or soloist - leads his own line of art in the program, creating a figurative relief in the general musical movement. The true guides in this action are the characteristic timbres of musical instruments, the color and sound of which easily transfers the listener from one time layer to another, allowing you to travel in the vast ocean of time.
Bright and powerful modern orchestral tutti, holding together the musical plot of the action. The all-pervading eternal voice of the organ, taking in the breath of a thousand flutes. The gentle singing of the violin, the deep, courageously restrained voice of the double bass, the orchestral power of the piano are all paints from the artist’s sound palette. And - the triumphant, “timed” sound of the belfry “Sofia”, linking together all the musical and artistic action.
In the dynamics of the program’s development, orchestral episodes alternate with monologues of soloists - improvisers, with associations of soloists in duets and ensembles, with replicas of orchestral instruments framed by the bell-shaped sound of the Sofia belfry.
The musical and creative core of the project is an alliance of two outstanding Moscow musicians, composers and brilliant improvisers of the honored artists of Russia, the Ivanov brothers (Mikhail - piano, belfry and Andrey - double bass solo). Winners of the Grand Prix “EuroJazz Contest- 89” (Brussels), laureates of the Moscow Prize in the field of literature and art. The artistic director of the project Mikhail Ivanov is a composer, arranger, member of the Union of Composers of Russia.
The leading soloists in this program, together with Andrei and Mikhail Ivanov, will be invited world stars.
