The exhibition project, organized by the Creative Union of Artists of Russia, the Vizart Foundation with financial support from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the assistance of the Russian Academy of Arts, was presented in three cities in 2018: Stavropol, Smolensk and Moscow.
“Picturesque Russia” is an educational project aimed at the study and popularization of modern painting. The project has been held annually since 2016. The constant leader and initiator of the project - E.V. Chamomile. The selection of participants and works is carried out by an expert commission of the TSKhR and the Russian Academy of Arts - artists, art historians, specialists in contemporary art.
In 2018, the work of the participants was selected by a curatorial team of six people: Leonid Bazhanov, Tatyana Kochemasova, Alexander Rozhin, Sergey Gavrilyachenko, Anna Florkovskaya, Vera Lagutenkova. Each of the curators formed a group of artists, who, in their opinion, are the most prominent representatives of various areas of easel realistic painting. The general art space presents easel paintings by experienced artists of the older generation and the energetic work of young authors. These are the works of 12 national and 9 honored artists of Russia, members of the Russian Academy of Arts (14 academicians, five corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Arts), teachers of art universities in Moscow and St. Petersburg, their students, talented young artists.
The traveling exhibition and catalog includes works by: Pavel Nikonov, Zurab Tsereteli, Natalya Nesterova, Evgeny Romashko, Alexei Sukhovetsky, Anatoly Lyubavin, Viktor Glukhov, Ivan Korshunov, Daria Antonova, Konstantin Lupaev and many others. A total of 37 authors from six cities of Russia.
The exposition includes works reflecting the trends of Russian fine art over thirty years of its development: from 1989 to 2018.
As part of the exhibition project “Picturesque Russia” in the Radishchev Museum (Pervomaiskaya St., 75) on the occasion of the 80th birthday of Anatoly Uchaev, People’s Artist of Russia, academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, founder and first head of the Volga branch of the Russian Academy of Arts in Saratov (2001-2011), a personal exhibition of paintings by Anatoly Vasilyevich from the funds of the A. N. Radishchev State Agricultural Art Museum and the artist’s workshop will be presented.
The exhibition "Picturesque Russia" is exhibited from March 1 to March 31, 2019 during the opening hours of the Radishchevsky Museum and the exhibition hall of the Bogolyubovsky School.
