Rostropovich in a concert production of D. D. Shostakovich’s opera “Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk County”, where he performed fragments of the story of N. S. Leskov. For many years, the artist collaborated with the Mariinsky Theater. On the stages of the Great Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic and the Chapel, Emelyanov, as a director, directed many significant concert programs. He is the artistic director and president of the Creative Association "Pushkin Heritage", a full member of the World Club of St. Petersburg since its inception (1991)
