From April 29 - May 26, 2017 at the Fine Art Club Red October Gallery, Veniamin Golubitsky’s anniversary street exhibition will be held, where you can see street portraits of people taken during his travels by the author over six continents for a quarter of a century.
Traveling to distant lands is not only new places, beautiful views and bright colors. These are other faces. An Austrian fan and an Australian native, a model from Saint-Tropez and an Indian from Cuzco, what unites them? Direct look of the photographer.
Eye contact is what brings strangers together for an instant. Those frank moments that can last a split second, but remain in memory forever. Veniamin Golubitsky has the rare ability to look directly into the eyes of unknown people from other countries and hold this moment with the camera. This direct gaze takes his pictures beyond the usual travel photography, giving them a humanistic dimension.
Veniamin Golubitsky is the author of several books and an album of photographs, as well as a poet, member of the Union of Russian Writers and the Board of Trustees of the National Award “Cultural Heritage”, President of the KORTROS Group of Companies.
The curator of the exhibition is Mikhail Sidlin, critic, historian, author of more than 500 articles on art in Russian and foreign publications, lecturer at the School of Photography and Multimedia. A. Rodchenko
