Sofya Danilovna Kuzminykh - master of decorative and applied art, national artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, honored artist of Russia, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan named after Gabdulla Tukai, laureate of the Prize of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan named after Baki Urmanche, member of the Union of Artists of Russia and the Republic of Tatarstan, member of republican, zonal, national and international exhibitions. She owes a significant merit to the revival of the artistic traditions of the art of the Tatar leather mosaic, the development of gold embroidery, the development of national costume and accessories, weaving and carpet making, and decorative painting of delicate fabrics.

Kuzminykh is distinguished by a comprehensive approach to solving the problems of this type of art, breadth of thinking, a variety of searches in the field of form (model, product design) and decor, freedom of imagination and the pursuit of style unity based on the traditions of folk art, national ornamentation with its particular richness of plants, " floral "motifs. The exhibition dedicated to the 90th birthday of the Master will feature works made using the leather mosaic technique, embroidery, batik, triptych “Dedication to the memory of Gabdulla Tukay” from the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts and the artist’s collection, as well as the triptych “Golden Autumn” (leather mosaic), diptych "Ivan da Marya" (embroidery, Vladimir seam), shawl "Silk Road" (batik), created by Sofia Danilovna Kuzminykh in 2017.
