Tkachev. He belongs to the famous art dynasty. His grandfather, Nikolai Mikhailovich Chernyshev, is one of the recognized masters of the first half of the 20th century, a student of K. Korovin and V. Serov; parents are famous Moscow painters, Andrei Gorsky and Ekaterina Chernysheva. Nikolai Gorsky-Chernyshev chose a difficult path - remaining true to the family realistic artistic tradition, to find himself as an independent creative person.

Creative addictions N.A. Gorsky-Chernyshev was decided in the early 1980s, therefore, the exhibition presents works created over a fairly long time - three and a half decades. They are distinguished by high professionalism, mastery of a colorful palette, the ability to consider in everyday things and familiar subjects a spiritual impulse and the beauty of life, a connection with the surrounding nature.

N. Gorsky-Chernyshev refers to the genres of landscape, portrait, interior, still life. His designs are not born spontaneously, they are always the result of reflection and observation of life.

Impressions of numerous trips, comprehension of the artistic heritage, deep ideas and moral experience of Christianity (triptych “Nilova Deserts”), appeal to the best achievements of world culture - all this is embodied in the artist’s works of recent years. When getting acquainted with them, it becomes obvious that this is not just a fixation of momentary impressions, but the result of deep creative experiences. In the artistic images created by N.A. Gorsky-Chernyshev, past, in contact with the present, finds a new life, and the modern is enriched with the memory of the past. Carefully keeping his childhood memories, he, like his illustrious grandfather, strives to create poetic images imbued with spiritual harmony.

The famous Italian critic and art historian Flavio Carola, in his article in the newspaper Corriere de Sera, dedicated to the exhibition of works by the Gorsky-Chernyshev dynasty in Bologna, praised the work of Nikolai Gorsky-Chernyshev and called it "an unpredictable phenomenon of contemporary Russian art."

Since 1983, the artist is a regular participant in the largest Russian and foreign exhibitions, since 2001 - a member of the Society of Fine Arts of Florence, in the same year he was elected academician of the Petrovsky Academy of Sciences and Arts.

A significant role in the life of N.A. Gorsky-Chernyshev plays his teaching activities. In 2005-2007, he led classes in the painting workshop of the art faculty of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, since 2011 he teaches at the Faculty of Painting of the Moscow State Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov.

Personal exhibitions of N.A. Gorsky-Chernyshev took place in ROSIZO of the Ministry of Culture of Russia, the Central House of Artists of the Russian Federation, in the House of Dante and the Mentana Gallery in Florence (Italy), his works are in museums and private collections in Russia, the USA, Italy, Germany, Great Britain, France, Greece and other countries.

The exposition in the halls of the Russian Academy of Arts includes about 50 works by Nikolai Gorsky-Chernyshev. Many of them were created during the 2000-2014s and are exhibited for the first time.
