Yuri Vladimirovich Shestakov was born in 1953 in Moscow. In 1970-1975 he studied at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute. Member of the Moscow Union of Artists (Moscow Print Association). Has exhibited as a painter and graphic artist since 1976. In 2008 he was awarded a diploma named after I.I. Nivinsky, in 2013 he was awarded a medal of the Moscow Union of Artists for his services to the development of fine arts. He created suites of lithographs for a number of hand-made small-circulation books: Francois Villon. Selected Works, Francois Rabelais. Yuri Vladimirovich Shestakov is a collector, a lover of old European art, a deep connoisseur and admirer of the works of Dutch and Flemish artists of the 16th – 17th centuries. He created his own special world, in which his own work is inseparable from the antiquity of the Golden Age of northern masters.

The exhibition consists of two sections. The first block includes paintings and graphic works by Yu. V. Shestakov. The second one presents engravings by old masters from the artist’s personal collection: works by Rembrandt, Durer, Lucas of Leiden, Ostade, Goltzius and other famous masters of the engraver.
