Aelita Lentovskaya belongs to the type of artists born of the 20th century who cannot be attributed to any specific “workshop”. She can be called a painter, graphic artist, designer, but not a fashion designer. Aelita’s creativity marks a borderline situation - it lies between art itself and life itself, without strict and clear contours.

Aelita’s art bridges the gap between the artist’s self and the world, between the spiritual and the objective, between the vital and the aesthetic. Therefore, her work is so autobiographical: paintings, drawings, objects, costumes - no matter how coloristic and plastic tasks her thoughts occupy - always talk about her.

She draws literally scratching “her” feeling into the paper, while in the oil her brushstroke gains more and more courageous determination… Aelita’s costumes - an organic combination of painting and design - have a wonderful property. A person in contact with them falls into the magic of the artist’s creative space.

An important feature of the artist’s plastic symbols is architectonics, hidden in the elusive and indefinite, the specificity of the actual plastic relationship between the human body and the clothes worn on it is not a Eurocentric concept, but rather an Eastern one, close to a hieroglyphic image.
