May 17-19, 2019 in Moscow for the 10th time will be held the International Choral Festival of Sacred Music “Crystal Chapel”. This year, more than three dozen children and adult groups will compete for the Grand Prix of the festival - an image of the chapel of Alexander Nevsky, recreated in crystal by the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Konstantinovich Tsereteli.
The festival is dedicated to the celebration of the Days of Slavic Writing and Culture and is annually held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Slavic Fund of Russia, the Russian Academy of Arts and the State Museum of Modern Art. The unification of people, the development of public diplomacy, the strengthening of good neighborliness and cooperation between peoples, the promotion of the convergence of believers of different faiths, the preservation of the spiritual traditions of Russia and the maintenance of interest in spiritual music are the main goal of the festival.
Over the years, the Crystal Chapel festival was attended by groups from Moscow and St. Petersburg, Kazan and Bryansk, Tver and Yaroslavl and from many other cities of Russia, as well as foreign guests from Belarus, Bulgaria, Germany, the USA, Latvia, Portugal, Slovakia, Ukraine, Italy Argentina and other countries.
The jury of the International Festival “Crystal Chapel” includes leading figures of choral art in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Poland.
All these years, our festival has been welcomed by the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky, President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli, President of the Slavic Fund of Russia G.V. Bogolyubov, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate Metropolitan Illarion, and others.
May 18, 2019 in the grand hall “Yabloko” of the Museum and Exhibition Complex of the Russian Academy of Arts of the Art Gallery of Zurab Tsereteli (Moscow, Prechistenka 19), the most striking event of the festival will be held. Within the framework of the “Night of Museums” campaign, the choral concert of the participants of the “Crystal Chapel” will last more than 7 hours!

22.00 - a traditional flash mob “Did you sing at night in the museum?”, Which always causes great enthusiasm of spectators and listeners. Visitors will have the opportunity to feel like real artists and will be able to perform familiar works together with choral groups. The “Night of Museums” in the MVK PAX will end with the work of Michael Haydn “Mass of St. Aloysia”, which will be performed by the combined choir of the participants of the Crystal Chapel and invited guests - soloists of the Helikon Opera Theater.
