Khaziev Madiyar is a native of the village of Kerenny, Sabinsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan. After the successful completion of the Kazan Art College, he was sent to the Naberezhnye Chelny Children’s Art School, where he worked for several decades, and a galaxy of young artists could call him their Teacher.
Madiyar Sharipovich Khaziev - Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan (1999), People’s Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan (2013), Honorary Citizen of Naberezhnye Chelny (2014). In 2017, he became a laureate of the Baki Urmanche Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Khaziev Madiyar is one of the members of the Tamga creative group, which is actively promoting modern Tatar art in the Republic of Tatarstan and beyond. For the artist Madiyar Khaziev, the search for a spiritual foundation is important on which it is possible to build an original system of images for the most vivid expression of the essence of the national spirit and self-awareness. Working in the style of the so-called “ethnic” avant-garde, he fully respects the experience of previous generations and creates a new one based on old traditions.
The main theme of the artist’s works is the life of the village with its unhurried life and deep mental traditions. He recreates the state of mind that he once experienced in childhood, conveys the fundamental values of the Tatar people. This, first of all, is manifested in color combinations, in the features of shaping: he does not register faces, his works are conditional - such decorativeness is characteristic of Tatar art. The bright, contrasting coloring of his works, color dissonances on an emotional level make any viewer, even untrained, worry.
Another manifestation of deeply national traditional art is the work in the technique of shamail, in which there is no religious content. It works on glass, with foil lining. Madiyar Khaziev writes on ink on the back of the glass with ink or an ordinary marker, then he puts multicolored foil on the elements of the picture. With different lighting, their perception changes. Paintings in the technique of Shamail enriched the expressive language of the master himself and a considerable number of followers appeared. Thus, the artist, while remaining absolutely modern in execution and spiritual content, gives the viewer the opportunity to return to the roots of national art.
The exhibition runs through April 15, 2018.
