Hadji Murad Alikhanov. COLOR and LIGHT. Exhibition of Painting and Graphics Automatic translate

As a ray of white light falls on a glass prism and reveals a rainbow of the spectrum, so the paints chosen by the artist’s brush, lying on the canvas, are reborn for a new life, playing in shades and tones.

School of Dramatic Art in collaboration with Artcultivator present an exhibition of the Honorary Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Hadji Murad Alikhanov. This is the second exhibition of the artist in the hospitable space of the theater, giving a unique opportunity to merge Color and Light. The unity of light as an integral part of the theater’s architecture and the color that burns on the artist’s canvases creates an amazing impression comparable to the birth of a new universe. To enjoy this new world, born of light and color - with all its paradoxical rainbows, event horizons and time spirals - the viewer will need only one thing - the desire to feel harmony.

The exhibition presents more than 40 works: pictorial abstractions and landscapes. A special place is occupied by the series “Silhouettes” - the author’s interpretation of the immortal motive of naked female nature.

Hadji Murad Alikhanov, Honorary Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, Honored Artist of the Republic of Dagestan. Born in 1948 in Dagestan. After art school he graduated with honors from the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography. In the 80s he represented the country at art exhibitions abroad. Participant of many collective exhibitions, since 2002 annually holds solo exhibitions. The works are in museum collections, including in the Pushkin Museum im. A.S. Pushkin, MMSI, as well as in corporate and private collections in Russia, USA, Austria, Italy, France, Norway, Sweden, Scotland, Japan. Among the largest collectors is AFK SISTEMA.
