On Wednesday, February 17, the Electromuseum in Rostokino will open the Antimuseum exhibition project, the task of which is to show the diversity of media art without any genre and institutional restrictions.
"Antimuseum" is based on an open-call among artists, designers, engineers, programmers, musicians, scientists and all those who explore the artistic and communication nature of new media. Everyone is given the opportunity to participate - there is no curatorial control of the exposure. The exhibition assumes a constantly updated format: as new applications from authors are received, the exhibition will change.
“We want to stimulate creative activity in the field of media art, as well as expand the scope of ideas about the boundaries of creative expression,” - Alexey Shulgin, artist, curator of the Electromuseum.
Also on February 17, an interactive exhibition called Hackney Gallery will open at the Sound Art Gallery in the Electromuseum. A computer will be installed on the site, which will become a model of a public zone with simple rules of conduct and a specific goal: to create an exhibition of sound works. Access to the computer will be open to everyone through the Internet.
