March 11, 2016 at 16:00 on the 2nd floor of the Information, Educational and Exhibition Center of the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts (Lenin St. 103) the grand opening of the exhibition "Petersburg Meetings" of the St. Petersburg Creative Union of Artists will take place.
Petersburg Meetings is the second traveling exhibition of works by leading artists of the St. Petersburg Creative Union of Artists, planned in the cities of the Central Federal District of the Russian Federation, such as: Tula, Kaluga, Ryazan, Murom, Tambov, Lipetsk. The first mobile project was held in the North-West Federal District of the Russian Federation, in the art museums of Veliky Novgorod, Pskov, Vyborg, Murmansk, Arkhangelsk, Petrozavodsk in 2012-2013.
The exhibition "Petersburg Meetings" was first performed in November 2008 together with the Russian Academy of Arts and the Creative Union of Artists of Russia, in the halls of the St. Petersburg Creative Union of Artists. Even then, the idea was born to implement a project of a traveling exhibition, possibly including as many cities as possible in the orbit of the project’s movement, supporting the good old traditions of “movement”. In this project, there is a desire not only to show the various schools, trends, trends inherent in the artistic traditions that were formed in Petersburg in the early 20th century, but also to note the fact that the atmosphere of the artistic environment of St. Petersburg is enriched by the unique aura of the city and, without fail is reflected in the works of masters. This allowed the curators of the project to unite artists under the code name “Petersburg Meetings”.
The works presented at the St. Petersburg Meetings exhibition reflect the creative search for artists of different generations, the freedom of artistic processes actively supported by the St. Petersburg Creative Union of Artists throughout its history.
For visitors, the exhibition will run from March 11 to April 10, 2016 at the address: Kaluga, st. Lenin 103, daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday is a day off. Tel for reference: 56-28-30, 56-38-20
