Exhibition of paintings "Melody of the City" by Dmitry Kotunov in the ARTMUSE Automatic translate
From March 2 to March 16, 2015, the exhibition of the young talented St. Petersburg artist Dmitry Kotunov will be held in the ARTMUZA creative cluster.
Dmitry creates in two areas: design and art. Especially interesting are his works of easel painting, in which he turns to the genres of urban landscape, still life, portrait. His style is a combination of the traditions of classical realistic art and a certain schematic, conventional art language. This manner gives the impression of authenticity and at the same time the illusory nature of the image.
A special place in the work of Dmitry Kotunov is occupied by his native city - Petersburg. His paintings reflect not a modern metropolis and not magnificent monuments of architecture from tourist postcards. Dmitry Kotunov’s Petersburg is quiet streets, small courtyards, houses illuminated by the sun, bridge-washed shady alleys washed by rain.
As the art critic Tatyana Ostaeva wrote: “The simplicity and clarity of the artistic vision, rigorous and verified drawing, thoughtfulness and harmony of the composition, sophistication of color - a distinctive feature of the works of the artist Dmitry Kotunov, for which art is a special universe where everyday and everyday life acquires high meaning and spiritual revelation ".
The exhibition will feature works by the author of different years and different genres. Dmitry Kotunov was born in Leningrad in 1974. After art school he graduated from the school at the Mukhinsky school. In 1998 he graduated from the St. Petersburg State Art and Industry Academy named after Mukhina (now the Academy named after L.A. Stieglitz) with a degree in software design. Since 1993, his works are exhibited in art galleries in St. Petersburg. Many works are in private collections in Russia and abroad.
