The URBAN project was born from an impressive plein air practice of an artist who paints a city landscape mainly at night.
The artist is interested in the flip side of materiality. In each stroke, a fine line of life and death of the city structure is visible, when the sun’s rays leave the game of reflexes and glare, giving way to the realism of darkness.
In his paintings, the author strives for absolute authenticity and identity of his own sense of the city, depicts it without cover and tinsel. The main characters of the paintings are not people and plot productions, but monoliths made of concrete and metal, industrial zones, abandoned houses and ghettos, undisguised, exposed bones of buildings that continue a quiet life without people, contemplating rare passers-by.
Twilight nature, under the sensitive hand of the artist, graphically carves sharp lines against a pale sky. This side of life speaks brighter and more truthful than all the lights and loud signs. What is left behind the smile that hides behind the powdered gloss of bohemia? The artist breaks these covers, impartially exploring the nature of things, not trying to please and be relevant. She is honest in her art and remembers that freedom cannot be comfortable, and the artist grows weak from excessive public love.
