On the 200th anniversary of the birth of M.Yu. Lermontov.
September 16, 2014 at 17.30 in the House-Museum of Marina Tsvetaeva
opening of an exhibition of works by artists
"Portrait of a contemporary."
Exhibition of artists TSPH "Portrait of a contemporary - you go, like me…" continues the cycle of numerous exhibitions and competitions dedicated to the anniversary of Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov. Artists, whose works are presented at the exhibition, interpret the past and the present in their own way, trying to imagine themselves in the poet’s place. Romanticism, the traditions of which were laid in the time of Lermontov, had a huge impact on Russian culture and there is a feeling of some parallel with the creativity, fate and time of Marina Tsvetaeva. Two great poets - Lermontov and Tsvetaeva - are separated by a century and united by eternity.
The “prophet" of the young poet and the tragic and prophetic verses of Marina are a bridge between times and destinies.
We drink from the cup of being
Eyes closed
Golden watering edges
With my own tears
these lines from the poem “Cup of Life”, written by 17-year-old Mikhail Lermontov in 1831, and now sound quite modern. We are all contemporaries, co-participants, we all live in an “interesting time” and searches, throwing of those years are not alien to us either.
We are waiting for you on September 16, 2014 at 17.30 in the House-Museum of Marina Tsvetaeva at the address: Borisoglebsky per., 6, building 1.
