From March 6 to April 5, the ARTMUZA Creative Cluster (St. Petersburg) will host a personal exhibition of paintings by the painter Vladimir Larev “BONJOUR, PARIS!” Painting.

The exhibition will feature about 100 paintings created in France and at home, and the artist will also show paintings written in Spain, Italy, Norway, Denmark and other countries. Vladimir Larev was born on September 27, 1954 in the village of Balabash-Baishevo, Batyrevsky District, Chuvash Republic. In 1979 he graduated from the Cheboksary Art College. After that, the artist did not touch the paints for 26 years.

26 years for Vladimir Larev are years of searching for true inspiration. The artist was always afraid of amateurism, philistinism, and bias in relation to art. For 26 years he has been looking for his way in painting. He went through kilometers of stained fences, disappointments and fears before, like Odysseus, cleansed of dirt and appeared in all his inspired power before the eyes of raging critics.

Art is originality, it is reality reflected by the soul, a state of uninterrupted inner catharsis. Vladimir Larev never sought to be like someone. Losing his personality is equated with mortal sin. That is why, returning to the world of art in 2003 with a series of self-portraits, the artist immediately stated that he was not going to bow to mediocre painting and caustic criticism. The main goal of the artist is to offend the viewer with his work. All true art is worthy of being perceived, even negatively; only true art can disembowel a part of the common man’s consciousness, make him feel, even if these feelings are a bunch of contradictions.

At the moment, it is difficult to characterize the art of Vladimir Larev in its entirety. Refined and prickly, childishly magical and adultly frank, it reveals in itself the abysses of human content, which each time opens the viewer with new dimensions of sensuality.

Vladimir Larev is a mysterious mixture of pulsating impressionism, expressionist shell and fantasy, contrary to the canons of pop art. Perhaps this is exactly what the new aesthetic level of post-postmodern art should look like in its conceptual decision

Currently, Vladimir creates in a workshop in Paris and trips to Europe. The experience of the past forever remains somewhere inside us, where the art of creative outlook originates.
