He was born in the Urals in 1964 in the city of Nizhny Tagil, graduated from the Moscow Art School of the Moscow Art School at the Moscow State Art Institute. Surikov and the Academy of Arts of the USSR. Then he studied in the studio of the artist F.F. Voloshko, then in the Krasnoyarsk Art Institute at the department of painting in the workshop of V. M. Kharlamov. Since 2001, Vadim Kuzmin is a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia, the International Federation of Artists (painting section). Participates in exhibitions since 1985; In 1996, 2003, 2011, his personal exhibitions were held in Moscow and other cities of Russia. In 2007, he was awarded a diploma at the UN exhibition in Moscow, and in the same year his permanent exhibition opened in the Belle Fleur Gallery in the Central House of Artists in Moscow. His works are in museums and private collections in Russia and abroad.
The exposition of the exhibition includes more than sixty works of painting, among which landscapes of Central Russian nature, the Caucasus, and the artist’s favorite genre are still life. Vadim Kuzmin is a talented master of still life, in his work he continues the traditions of the Russian realistic school. In his works, the artist demonstrates the advantages and possibilities of still life as an independent genre. His works are distinguished by a variety of forms. The artist creates compositionally complex still lifes, depicting flowers against a landscape, where flowers and the surrounding nature merge into a single harmonious whole. He also writes chamber still lifes in which the viewer focuses on the beauty of the bouquet itself, each flower. His still lifes speak of the beauty and generosity of nature in the language of colors and a combination of forms, trembling and expressive strokes.
Another theme in the artist’s work is landscape. Vadim Kuzmin works by nature, subtly feels the beauty and poetry of nature hidden even in the everyday motive, and knows how to show it in his landscapes. Creative credo of the artist: to discover in the most ordinary landscape something exciting and unique. He travels a lot in Russia. The exhibition presents landscapes painted in recent years in Karelia, the Vladimir region, in the Kaluga region in the vicinity of Tarusa and Polenov.
Vadim Kuzmin’s painting will not leave anyone indifferent, it will be interesting for visitors of any age.
The exhibition will run from September 08 to October 09, 2017 in the outbuilding of the KIIII (104 Lenin St.).
