Kaluga is the 7th city on the route of this exhibition. The paintings of monumental sizes presented at the exhibition were created at the turn of 2005-2017. Andrei Drozdov’s paintings amaze with expressive truth and sincerity. The heroes of the paintings are confessors of Orthodoxy, warriors who laid down their lives for faith and the Fatherland, ordinary people, our contemporaries.
The paintings are made in a realistic manner, in a language understandable to the viewer, with all the complexity of the painting techniques and techniques. All these canvases can be traced through a deep thought, without which the genre, historical picture loses all meaning. The paintings affect the souls of the audience and attract to themselves, something intimate and warm, give a boost of energy and even answer many questions of the audience looking for a way out of the labyrinths of life.
Andrei Drozdov is a vivid representative of the Russian School of Painting, his work is distinguished by a clear understanding of the fact that an artist should carry only high, pure, sincere art into the world. The artist works in the tradition of a realistic school of painting. His works touch upon the themes of mercy, kindness, and the greatness of military feat.
Andrei Yurievich Drozdov was born in 1970 in Ulyanovsk. In 1989 he graduated from the Penza Art College. K. A. Savitsky. In 1996 - 2002 he studied at the picturesque faculty of Moscow State Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov with famous teachers and artists A.I. Fomkin, E.N. Troshev, S.A. Serenko, People’s artists V.M.Sidorov and M.G. Abakumov, graduated with honors. In 2003, he trained at the Creative workshops of the Russian Academy of Arts (leaders of folk artists, academicians — A.P. and S.P. Tkachev). Since 2007 he has been working at the Studio of Military Artists named after M. B. Grekova.
Andrey Drozdov was awarded a diploma of the Russian Academy of Arts (2005), a diploma and a medal of UNESCO (2006), a diploma of the Union of Artists of Russia (2007), a medal of the Russian Academy of Arts “Shuvalov” (2010), a diploma of the first degree of the Church and Public Forum “Orthodox Russia”. Since 2005 is a member of the Moscow Union of Artists. He was awarded the State Scholarship of the Union of Artists of Russia. In 2009, he became a laureate of the 4th All-Russian contest “From Ancient Russia to New Russia” and a winner of the “Golden Brush” contest.
The artist’s works are in private collections in Russia, the USA, Greece, Germany, France, Italy.
