Within the framework of the Year of Literature, the All-Russian Museum of Decorative and Applied and Folk Art, together with the State Theater of Nations, prepared an exhibition dedicated to the richest source of inspiration that has nourished the work of masters of decorative and applied art for two centuries now - the tales of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin.

The works of fine, decorative, applied and folk art presented at the exhibition connect Russian fine and literary creativity in its most diverse manifestations - from folk crafts to the high style of A.S. Pushkin’s works, and refer to the unshakable foundations of the Russian world and culture.
On the basis of materials from the funds of the All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art, sections from “Tales of Tsar Saltan”, “Tales of the Fisherman and the Fish”, and “The Tale of the Golden Cockerel” will be presented in special sections. A special place at the exhibition will be occupied by exhibits from the performance "Pushkin’s Tales" of the State Theater of Nations.

Viewers will see how the poet’s fairy tales came to life in the imagination of masters working with glass, ceramics, bone, wood, metal and stone, using the lacquer miniature technique. An important part of the project is a multimedia component: the works of Russian animators will be shown, as well as children’s drawings (both historical, first half of the twentieth century, and modern ones) depicting favorite subjects of the works of A. S. Pushkin.
