November 15 at 15:00 in the Information, educational and exhibition center of the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts (Lenin St., 103, 2nd floor) will open the exhibition of Vera Zaneginoy "Myths of non-woven forest."
Moscow artist Vera Zanegin for the first time presents works made in the non-woven textile art-protis in Kaluga.
The artist’s works represent a new direction in decorative art - non-woven industrial textiles enable the author to create works of art in a completely new way.
The exhibition presents unusual textile panels consisting of synthetic colored fibers using needle-punched technology and the author’s technique of applying thermal patterns to fabrics, as well as a series of graphic sheets. The author sees his main task as attracting the attention of the viewer to environmental issues. All textile work is made of polyester fibers - the product of the processing of plastic bottles. Recycling polyester plastics (PET) is the way to waste a tremendous amount of resources and protect the environment. The author seeks through decorative art to raise the issues of preserving the ecology of the environment.
Creating a non-woven textile in the form of a panel is a laborious and complex process. A soft-touch material in which the pattern is created using mechanical bonding: tangling and interlacing synthetic fibers with 40,000 needles or melting the pattern thermally, becomes a space for imagination. Natural motifs, plants, animal images are endowed with mythological and fabulous mystery.
Each piece is individual and unique. Restrained in color, monochrome, linearly plastic and contrasting compositions make the viewer think, reason, read subtexts, immerse themselves in the space of the “non-woven forest”.
The exhibition Myths of the Nonwoven Forest is held as part of the author’s art project Other Textiles.
