From January 14, in the winter garden of the main building of the Estate of V.P. Sukachev (Dekabrskikh Sobytiy st. , 112), an exhibition of coniferous plants "Important cone" is starting to work in the framework of a joint project of the museum and the Botanical Garden of ISU. Here you can see cones of exotic pines, cedars, cypresses and other conifers from different countries and continents: Japan, China, North America, Europe.
Why is the Siberian cedar not a cedar at all? What tree did the North American Indians call the "tree of life" and why? Which pine tree has the longest needles? The answers to these questions, as well as other interesting facts and legends about conifers, can be found at the exhibition, which will feature about thirty specimens, from the smallest to gigantic ones, from species most common in different parts of the world to rare and endangered, which are included in the Red Book of the International Union for Conservation of Nature. Any guest of the estate will be able to see the beauty and feel the mathematical harmony of the surrounding world, looking at these unusual exhibits.
The exhibition "The Big Shot" will be open at the V. P. Sukachev Estate (112 December Events Street) until March 28. Due to the difficult epidemiological situation, visiting the museum is possible only by appointment (tel.: 53-12-24). The museum has a mask mode.
