On August 14, 2019 at 16.00, the opening of the exhibition “Valery Moshkin. Between Two Worlds ”, dedicated to the life and work of the artist Valery Ivanovich Moshkin (1955–2007). The exposition will occupy two floors of the gallery and for the first time present to the attention of the audience about 200 works of one of the most extraordinary artists of Irkutsk.
At the exhibition, both the earliest works of the master, with whom he entered the artistic life of Siberia back in the 1980s, as well as works dated 2006. Most of the exposition will consist of graphic sheets from the 1990–2000s, the period of the heyday of creative activity. Valery Moshkin. Particular attention will be paid to the artist’s paintings. Art lovers will for the first time have the opportunity to see how multifaceted the artistic language of the author is. The exhibition will feature the best works of the artist: from classic realistic works to metaphysical and surrealistic images. The exhibition includes works from the collection of the Irkutsk Art Museum, the Irkutsk Museum of Local Lore, as well as from private collections.
As part of the exhibition, a catalog of works by Valery Moshkin will be released, which will be the first major publication dedicated to the life and work of this remarkable artist.
