Exhibition at the Lyceum as a competition Automatic translate
From April 4 to 6, the B.V. Johanson Academic Art Lyceum has a competitive exhibition "The World Will Save Love." Future artists reveal a broad philosophical theme in painting, drawing and sculpture and at the same time compete with each other for the right to participate in a large exhibition, which will be organized in the historic building of the Imperial Academy of Arts on Universitetskaya Embankment.
The exhibition at the Lyceum was the first final event of the educational project “Prize of the Patron of Minakov”, organized for artists of educational institutions of St. Petersburg: the Johannes Academic Lyceum and the Repin Academic Institute.
The school exhibition brought together 83 works: 26 watercolor sheets, 49 paintings on canvas and 8 sculptures. Young artists presented a wide range of subjects, found interesting compositional solutions, and showed a thoughtful understanding of the contest theme. In the works of lyceum students, historical, biblical and literary subjects were presented, as well as easily recognizable scenes of today’s life: catering for the homeless, the life of a lonely grandmother surrounded by domestic cats, a walk of a child with disabilities. Presenting their heroes in close-up, drawing details, the artists paid them special attention, showing their personal participation.
The global theme of salvation is revealed in works by schoolchildren in scenes of love and care for others. Tatyana Mishchenko, director of the lyceum, noted the sincerity of the students: “We really liked the theme of the contest, which invited young artists to think about important issues of our life. There is a lot of negativity in it today - wars and hatred, but children convey love to the audience with their sincere, honest attitude and means of art. ”
All school works compete for the right to enter the next round of the Eleventh Competition of Beginning Artists for the award of the patron of arts Igor Minakov. On April 5, the commission of teachers and artists of the Repin Institute, along with the Lyceum’s leadership, visited the exhibition and selected 21 works: 3 sculptures, 18 watercolors and paintings for participation in a large exhibition of the competition. According to the artist Khamid Savkuev, the main criterion for the selection of school works was the feelings and emotions of the artist himself: “The works submitted to the competition should touch the soul, illustrate such important postulates as kindness, love, mercy” - the artist noted - The author’s professionalism is important, but secondly. "
Selected school works will take part in the final exhibition of the XI contest, which will open on April 18 in the Titian Hall of the Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts. Competitive exhibitions for the award of a patron of art have been organized for 10 years, competitions of lyceum students are held for the fourth consecutive season.
