The cooperation of the Public Organization of the Kryashens of the Republic of Tatarstan with cultural institutions of the Nagaybak and Chebarkul districts of the Chelyabinsk region was established back in the 1990s and has been successfully developing to this day.
The exhibition is the first large-scale event dedicated to the Nagaybak culture, which is organized outside the Chelyabinsk region. It is dedicated to two significant dates: the 280th anniversary of the adoption by the Nagaybaks of the Cossacks, as well as the 180th anniversary of the Kryashen educator, the founder of the Kazan central baptismal Tatar school, and teacher Vasily Timofeevich Timofeev (1836–1895). This year, the public also honors the brother of Vasily Timofeev - Ignatius Timofeev (1847–1915), the first teacher and enlightener of the Nagaybaks. Ignatius Timofeev conducted an educational and Christian mission among the Nagaybaks - the Cossacks-Kryashen of the Southern Urals.

The exhibition of Nagaybak traditional culture was made possible thanks to the initiative of the Public Organization of Tatarstan Kryashen, whose efforts included the celebration of the anniversary year of the educator and missionary Vasily Timofeev in the action plan of the Ministry of Culture of Tatarstan and were funded by the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan by decree of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The aim of the exhibition is to familiarize the public with arts and crafts, and exhibits from museums in the Nagaybak and Chebarkul districts of the Chelyabinsk region, which reflect the history and traditional life of nagaibaks. It should enrich the idea of the diversity and richness of the ethnic art of the Nagaybaks, establish spiritual ties between the peoples of the regions, and will contribute to the preservation of traditional culture.
As a result of the exhibition, a catalog was published that included the best examples of works of decorative and applied art, interior items - those masterpieces of folk culture of Nagaybaks that were managed to be preserved in museum collections. The catalog is accompanied by scientific articles by Tatarstan and Chelyabinsk historians and art historians, which reflect the richness, features and identity of the Nagaybak culture. The catalog is the first academic scientific publication in this field.
The exhibition runs from September 10 to November 5, 2016.
