The exhibition of graphics by Igor Makarevich and Elena Elagina is a travel diary. But it is not the artists themselves who travel here, but their ideas embodied in the form of complex installations, often made especially for certain museums or galleries. From the Louvre to the Perm State Art Gallery, there is a single field of precise and diverse statements in form - about the biology of Soviet utopias, about the desire for eternal life through overcoming death. Sketches made in different techniques and in different formats show not only the development of these ideas, but also what place is given to the viewer and to the frequent character of the drawings in the projects of Makarevich and Elagina.

Igor Makarevich - Born in 1943 in Georgia in the highland village of Tsalkine. He moved to Moscow in 1951. He graduated from the Moscow secondary art school (MAKSH), in which at different times the artists studied, who formed the core of Soviet unofficial art. In 1968 he graduated from the art department of the Institute of Cinematography (VGIK). For many years he worked as a book illustrator, monumentalist, theater artist, photographer. He was a member of the collective action group. Since 1990, most of the projects have been carried out jointly with Elena Elagina.

Elena Elagina - Born in Moscow in 1949. She studied at the Moscow secondary art school (MAKSH). She later studied sculpture with Ernst the Unknown until 1976, and painting with Alice Poret, while studying at the Faculty of Philology of the Pedagogical Institute. Since 1979, she constantly participated in the actions of the group "Collective Actions". After the implementation of a large project, together with Igor Makarevich "Closed Fish Exhibition", they work together.

The exhibition continues the program “Paper Only”, dedicated to contemporary domestic drawing.
