From January 27 to February 25, 2020, an exhibition of works by theater artist Natalya Zyuzkevich "In the light genre" will be opened at the St. Petersburg State Theater Library.
To work in the “easy genre” is very difficult - you need a delicate taste and the ability to balance on the verge of sharp, seductive, tinsel, without slipping into vulgarity and kitsch. This gift has a wonderful theater artist Natalya Iosifovna Zyuzkevich. The costumes made according to her sketches are beautiful, elegant, elegant and, very importantly, convenient for working on stage. This is probably why so many entertainers, skaters, ballet dancers loved her costumes. The pages of sparkling performances of the legendary Leningrad Music Hall, unfortunately, are a thing of the past, but vivid, charming sketches of Natalya Zyuzkevich that convey the atmosphere of this holiday have been preserved.
Natalia Iosifovna Zyuzkevich was born in Lithuania in a family of hereditary doctors.
She received her first art education at the State Art Institute of the Lithuanian SSR in Vilnius (graphic department, course leader - Liaonas Lagauskas).
In 1968 she entered the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography at the art-production faculty (supervisor - N. P. Akimov, course teacher - M. Ts. Azizyan).
After graduating from the institute, in 1973 she left for Nizhny Tagil, where she worked at the Drama Theater. D.N. Mamina-Sibiryaka.
After returning to Vilnius, she became the main artist of the Vilnius Russian Drama Theater (from 1975 to 1978).
In 1982, the main director of the Leningrad Music Hall, Ilya Yakovlevich Rakhlin, invited Natalya Zyuzkevich to her theater as the main artist. Here she served for 27 years (from 1982 to 2009) and was the co-author of many wonderful programs. Natalya Zyuzkevich created hundreds of costumes for brilliant pop shows, including “America, America!”, “Mad Age”, “Bells Ring”, “Carnival”, “Housewarming” and others.
Working in the Leningrad Music Hall, Natalya Zyuz’kevich successfully collaborated with pop and theater groups in our city: the Petersburg Souvenir Dance Ensemble, the Edelweiss ensemble, Boris Eifman Ballet Theater, Valery Mikhailovsky St. Petersburg Men’s Ballet, and St. Petersburg State Ballet on Ice Petersburg, St. Petersburg State Theater of Musical Comedy, as well as the Moscow Dance Theater "Gzhel".
