February 14 at 16.00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art (St. Karl Marx, 23) will open the personal exhibition of Svetlana Shubnikova "Awakening". The exposition presents more than 60 works of painting, graphics and decorative art, created mainly in recent years.
The world of images of Svetlana Shubnikova is an endless fairy-tale universe. Favorite motifs in her work are flowers, birds, forest dwellers, female images and angels, which combine into intricate fantasy stories. The festive attitude and the ornamental beginning of all the works of Svetlana Shubnikova make them unusual even for today’s creative diversity.
The author’s ceramics is characterized by the element of folk art with bright color and decorativeness. However, the master cannot call himself a ceramist or an artist: “I do not distinguish between painting and ceramics. They complement each other. ” In addition to traditional forms, Svetlana came up with a completely new way of exhibiting ceramic sculpture. This is a combination of a flat image and volume, which are combined in one work. Designs can be disassembled and new compositions compiled. In fact, these are the same pictures, because ceramics, in the sense and composition, is inscribed in the artistic canvases.
Svetlana Shubnikova’s exhibition “Awakening” will open on February 14 at 16. 00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art of the Irkutsk Art Museum (23 Karl Marx St.) and will run until March 15. Entrance to the opening is free.
