SUNPRINTS Exhibition / Modern Urban Area and 19th Century Phototechnology Automatic translate
SUNPRINTS is the first exhibition from the project series of the Exhibition Halls of Moscow Association on the site of the Solntsevo Hall, the meaning of which is to create a Center for Contemporary Art and Design for Children on the basis of the existing exhibition space.
The SUNPRINTS project (from the English language sun - sun, print - print, footprint), as well as a number of subsequent projects, was conceived in order to introduce the residents of Solntsevo to their area, to offer them a different look at the usual everyday "sleeping" environment and it’s possible to change people’s attitude to the place where they live.
The exhibition will feature photographs of the Solntsevo area, taken today and imprinted in the cyanotype technique: one of the very first photographic techniques that has now become part of pictorial photography. Images obtained in this way exist at the junction of photography, graphics, and watercolors.
In addition, the exhibition will feature objects introducing visitors to the process of obtaining the print. One day in the hall there will be master classes in various formats for children and adults (obtaining an imprint in the technique of cyanotype; participation in the shadow theater); as well as lectures and express consultations.
